HBP SPOILERISH STUFF
Alright. So.
Wow it really is hard to start isn't it?
Anyway I won't go on too much because most things have been covered and ripped apart.
My main point of discussion was the fact there appears to be no Hogwarts next year. Not for our dear trio, at least. And it hurts, it kills. They have only just turned 17 and their futures are mapped out my murderous quests. Okay, so their lives haven't exactly been peacHy keen, but at least at the end of the day they had Dumbledore and Hagrid and Halloween Feasts and Quidditch and Hogsmeade. Now all they have is one goal. To kill the darkest most powerful wizard. Without Dumbledore, no less, who for me at least has been a huge security blanket.
I also don't understand the whole Dumbeldore and Snape thing (could not put a slash between them. Ick). Dumbledore wasn't stupid. Dumbledore could see right through a man, why couldn't he see that Snape was a Death Eater ... IS SNAPE A DEATH EATER?
The clincher was the moment just before Snape kills Dumbledore, Dumbledore pleads with him. Like he knows that Snape is going to kill him. So had he just figured it out or was their a ploy, a master plan? It's so ... confusing.
And what was Snape doing by saying "Leave Potter for the Dark Lord". Was he being the faithful servant or was he protecting Harry from certain death?
And while we're on Snape (whew) did anyone else jump to any kind of conclusion that involved Snape being in love with Lily? The way Dumbledore describes Snape's complete shock at the Potter's death ... I seriously doubt James dying would have been of any concern to him. And I'm really not going all school girl on you all; there is a thread over at the Realm that Pettigrew is in love with Lily but that just doesn't sit right for me.
Snape liking Lily doesn't sit right with me eitehr but it just ... seemed logical.
PLEASE READ THIS PART
One last thing and it's more of a brain lapse on my part then anything. At the end of 'The Secret Riddle' - after Dumbledore has shown Harry what happened when he went to collect Tom from the orphanage - Harry goes to leave the office but sees the ring isn't where it is supposed to be. Harry goes,
"The ring's gone ... but I thought you might have had the mouth organ or something" (the mouth organ being one of the trinkets Tom had stolen from anotehr orphan)
To which Dumbledore says "Very astute Harry, but the mouth organ was only ever a mouth organ."
WTF? I am still at a loss. Anyone?
